Class C Motorhomes
If you want to bring the comforts of home with you when you travel, a motorhome is a way to go. These vehicles provide plenty of great amenities, sleeping berths, and living space to make you feel cozy and secure wherever you are, even if you’re boondocking in the middle of the forest!Your local motorhome dealer is Bretz RV & Marine, in Boise, Idaho, and we’ve taken the time to detail some features and aspects of Class C motorhomes below to help you come to a decision.
Defining Class C Motorhomes
A motorhome is a self-contained recreational vehicle that has its own engine. This means you won’t have to tow it behind a passenger car or truck, which can be a real boon if you don’t like towing or don’t have a car capable of handling the extra weight. You can, however, often tow your car behind your motorhome if you want to bring it along! There are three types of “classes” of a motorhome: Class A, Class B, and Class C. Class Cs are the middle ground in terms of size, but they offer plenty of comfortable amenities and features and lots of interior space, so nothing about them feels small.
You can recognize a Class C motorhome in the dealer lot or on the highway by its truck-style chassis that provides a separate driver’s cab with an overhanging alcove.
Are They Easy To Drive?
The short answer is yes! Class C motorhomes are not as hard to drive as other big rigs, thanks to their lower center of gravity which matches that of a passenger vehicle. With a little practice, you’ll quickly get the hang of how to turn, reverse, accelerate and brake in a Class C motorhome. You will need to be wary of how much weight you’re driving, though, as this will mean you need more space to come to a complete stop and you’ll also have a wider turning radius, so drive carefully!Popular Class C Motorhome Features
The most basic Class C motorhomes will still have roomy kitchens and a comfortable bedroom and bathroom. The unique alcove over the cab provides a little more extra room than other motorhome styles, though. This space can be used as an extra sleeping berth or storage, depending on the model and what you want to do with it.If you want to get more high-end features, there are Class C motorhomes that offer exterior kitchens, entertainment centers, more residential-style appliances and more. Take note of the features that most appeal to you so you know what to look for when you’re browsing models.
With so many amenities in an easy-to-drive package, it’s easy to see why Class C motorhomes are so popular with campers. Come by our dealership located in Boise, to see our inventory of available Class C motorhomes for sale.
